Ottawa, CANADA (March 2, 2021) – FreeBalance, the global Public Financial Management (PFM) solutions and advisory services firm, today announced the launch of The FreeBalance Academy. The Academy is the company’s latest initiative to develop the PFM skills required by governments to deliver sustainable growth.
Local capacity development has always been a hallmark of FreeBalance’s approach to working with governments around the world. As a purpose-led organization, FreeBalance is proud of its achievements to date in developing local talent within its own operations and within the governments they serve. The FreeBalance Academy provides training that is exclusively focused on meeting the needs of governments of the future.
Developed by government experts for governments around the world, The FreeBalance Academy’s curriculum has been carefully constructed to build the skills that matter the most for successful PFM reform. With a range of courses falling into three broad categories – Government Capacity Building, PFM Short Courses and FreeBalance Product Training – the Academy’s offering meets the diverse needs of the global PFM community.
Bridget Kelly, Vice President, Alliances and Knowledge Management at FreeBalance, said: “We feel that we have a moral responsibility to do our part to build the PFM capacity of governments. Good governance, transparency and fiscal accountability are fundamental to the success of any country. In the face of ongoing disruptions in the labor market and increased pressure on governments for service delivery, it is critical that the PFM community has the right skills.”
The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the double-edged sword facing governments. Now more than ever they need good governance and transparency, yet they often lack the skills required for effective financial management.
Courses, which are delivered online or on site, offer practical and comprehensive training tailored to specific country context.
