“Internet of Things” devices measuring energy usage, pollution levels, traffic patterns, public security…. The smart city with IoT predictive maintenance. It’s a fantastic promise. Many analysts predict significant growth in smart cities technology and services, many driven by IoT.
IoT will not achieve desired smart city and smart government results unless cybersecurity and privacy are addressed. And, more effective public investment management is needed to plan for multiple complementary smart initiatives, and to provide regulatory modernization.
