FreeBalance Accountability Suite™ Supports the Courts Administration Service of the Government of Canada
FreeBalance is working with the Courts Administration Service (CAS) of the Government of Canada to upgrade its ‘classic’ version of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite™ to Version 7.
The project includes the upgrade of key Public Financial Management (PFM) functionality within the financials, revenue and purchasing modules of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite™. This includes the new (PFPF) Core Public Financials, (PEPR) Purchasing and Expenditure, (GRRV) Government Receipts Management, and (CSPL) Civil Service Planning modules.
Enhanced Public Financial Management for the Government of Canada
CAS will also add new PFM modules from the FreeBalance Accountability Suite™ for budget preparation and asset management. The (GPPB) Government Performance Budgeting and (PFFA) Fixed Assets modules will provide CAS with multi-year budget formulation, forecasting, version control and scenario planning capabilities and will support fixed asset accounting, depreciation, custody transactions and asset transfer management.
What is the FreeBalance Accountability Suite™?
The FreeBalance Accountability Suite™ is a commercial off-the-shelf, Government Resource Planning (GRP) solution that covers the entire budget cycle and manages all critical government fiscal systems. The Government of Canada has been using the FreeBalance Accountability Suite™ for 35 years.
What is the Courts Administration Service?
The Courts Administration Service provides services to the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada and the Tax Court of Canada. Established in 2003, the CAS facilitates coordination among the four courts, enhances judicial independence by placing administrative services at arm’s length from the GoC, and enhances accountability for the use of public money while safeguarding the independence of the judiciary.
